I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the birthday wishes!! I had such a fun day. Aaron took half the day off of work and we did some fun things – most of which included working on Matea’s room! I was glad to get so much done. The most unexpected part of my day was finding out that the Birthday Fairy (aka my mom) left treats outside my front door!
I was thinking about it, and I don’t think I have been in the same area as my parents on my birthday since I was in high school! It was fun to have coffee and scones from Panera on my front step. Thanks for visiting, Birthday Fairy!
I know you all have been wondering ALL WEEKEND what I ended up making for my birthday dessert. And the winner was….REESES CHEESECAKE BROWNIES! The recipe is from Pip and Ebby (which is an awesome site, btw) When it came down to it I just couldn’t resist a dessert that had big chunks of Resses Peanut Butter Cups on top.
I ended up going to go get all the ingredients on Friday afternoon before really reading the recipe…and I’m glad I got started when I did. I didn’t realize that you had to make the brownie/cheesecake layer, bake it, cool it, then refrigerate it before you made the topping. Oops. So, it wasn’t really hard, it just took some planning ahead. Luckily I got everything done in time and let me tell you, this dessert is TO DIE FOR. It is VERY rich, so it is not for the faint of heart. A nice cup of coffee goes really well with this awesome dessert.
My pants are DEFINITELY feeling tighter after Easter and my birthday, but that’s ok. Tight pants and a messy house are signs of memories made, right? (That’s what Jen tells me!)
