Happy Tuesday everyone! Poor Katie got the flu yesterday and was pretty miserable (I got the play by play via text message the entire day so I was well aware of how awful she felt).
I, being the perfect sister I am, went over and helped her hubs with the kids and cleaned up while she slept (I’m actually not perfect – I wanted to stay far far away and let Katie fend for herself). I bought her some essentials like Gatorade, saltines and flowers. A sick girl needs her flowers.
I also bought myself some flowers. A few years ago I started buying myself new bras or underwear when buying it for brides-to-be for their bachelorette parties because just because I wasn’t getting married didn’t mean that I could buy myself some cute new underwear. (TMI?) I feel the same when it comes to flowers.
I also got myself some new running shoes over the weekend. They’re pretty flashy. I’m pretty much obsessed. Thoughts?
They made my run yesterday morning so much more exciting. Who else out there runs? Anyone? I’m training for another marathon. I think I’m crazy. I’ve been printing out picture of Kara Goucher to keep me motivated. One look at those abs and I can put down the Girl Scout cookies and want to go out for my next run.
I saw this the other day and thought it was perfect for Katie.

She’s not a huge fan of running. This is more her style.

Although she does do a mean workout video.
With that, I’ll leave you with this. It gives us some perspective for the day. Have a beautiful Tuesday everyone!

« girls’ room update – maybe finished? only Thursday? sick of winter. »

Will you be my sister too?! I’m digging the new shoes. At the olympics all the runners had neon shoes, so I’m pretty sure they’ll make you faster.
You are such a good sister! I love the flowers and the shoes. I don’t think I would have enough guts to wear them though! Didn’t Dad used to say that black tennis shoes made you (as in brother Gary) run slower? I never did get that. Isn’t C. S. Lewis great?!?
Jen, you are sweet! I didn’t get flowers, but I too got the flu. It’s no fun and today I took off working out because I felt skinnier (from the flu).
Cute post.
