Hey all! Happy Monday! How was the weekend? My weekend was glorious. I did a whole lot of nothing on Friday night which was so great. Saturday morning I got up and went to a nursing home for the morning. Best. Morning. Ever. (Katie thinks I’m crazy.) It was seriously so much fun. We decorated Valentine’s cookies, painted nails and watched a juggler. Awesome.

I then took a nap. Equally awesome.

I also hit up a bluegrass show and did some bowling on Saturday night. I’m a terrible bowler but still had a blast.
Sunday it snowed (like everywhere else in the US except you crazies in Texas).

I went for a run in the midst of it. I love running in inclement weather. It makes me feel way hardcore.
So this week is Valentine’s week!

I hope you all do something very nice for your significant other as well as all your single friends. Single people need love too.
(You can send me a box or two of those Girl Scout Cookies you bought that are just tempting you…)

I also hope Matea makes me these. How fun!

Do you guys have traditions that you do on Valentine’s? Maybe you do a home cooked meal or a night on the town – or bypass it all together?
What we really want to know is who out there actually decorates for Valentine’s Day?

Like really decorates. And do these same people put as much effort into holidays like St Patrick’s Day as they do Valentine’s? I would guess yes but really I have no idea. Maybe because we put so much effort into Christmas we can’t fathom decorating for other holidays. Our holiday decorating budget is cashed out for one just one holiday.
Hi wreath.

I’ve actually never seen a Valentine’s Day wreath in person. Have you? Maybe you made one. If you did you should send us a photo. Or maybe just the wreath. Maybe we are just Valentine’s Day scrooges.
You should probably send us pom poms as well.

I think next year I will host a Valentine’s party. It will be a singles party. And I will decorate with pom poms and wreaths. You all will be so impressed with me.
This week my plan is to make Valentine cards for my friends tonight and send them via snail mail. I sent one card to one of my single friends last year and decided I’d make a bigger effort to do more this year. Hopefully I’ll send out at least two.
Tell us all about your Valentine’s Day decorating (or lack there of to make us feel better) and your big plans for Thursday…I’m sure someone has something fun planned!!

I have to admit that there is no decorating for V-day at my casa. We do have a fun tradition where we plan/cook a gourmet dinner with multiple courses…and wine (duh!) every year and have a relaxing/romantic dinner together by candlelight
.
We don’t decorate for Valentine’s day at our house either…but we will be going out to a nice dinner on Friday night. Hubby works late during the winter months, so we just make up for it another night.
Nursing homes and naps. A girl after my own heart.
