YAY!! Friday!!! I thought you’d never come. Last weekend I had a nice case of food poisoning so my Saturday evening and Sunday were spent in the bathroom or on the couch. It was pretty miserable. Monday and Tuesday I was feeling icky so it’s been a rough week. I’m hoping this weekend will be MUCH better than last.
I’m planning on spending this evening at Katie’s working on her kids’ room. We have to make it more boy for when THE BOY comes home. We just call him THE BOY right now since they have no idea what to name him. I told her she better get on it because THE BOY could come tomorrow. Or today. Or right now.
My ideas for THE BOY are Krishna (from the hippy-dippy names list), Delbert (from the grandma/grandpa names that are cool again list) or Brahlan (from the most unusual picks in the top 1000 US names list). These are serious lists. But not serious names for THE BOY. Although I’m taking a liking to Brahlan. And Krishna. Not Delbert though. Sorry, that isn’t a cool grandpa name yet. Seriously though people this is a serious problem. Give us your most unique but not weird boy names. Ready…go.
Speaking of babies, have you seen this nursery reveal??

It’s legit. Clearly. It from our girl Kelly from View Along the Way. Go check it out. We’re going to try to channel our inner Kelly and whip up a few pinwheels in Katie’s kids’ room like she has in her nursery. It’s a good thing she has a tutorial.
Speaking of Kelly, she had Holly from Life as a Thrifter be a guest blogger recently and ever since I’ve been hooked. (Aren’t I super amazing with the segue today??) She has lots of happy, colorful decorating which I’m totally digging. I think we’d be friends. Go check out her blog.

Last but not least, I’m loving this pin.

I love the name Max but not with our last name. Almost anything works with Katie’s last name, so that’s nice! I’ve already used my two favorite boy names (Emery and Oliver) but there are lots of other cute ones out there. Matea and Max sounds pretty cute, though!
Not to leave Adlee out (I just re-read this and realized that I only mentioned Matea)! Adlee sounds good with just about anything, though! Everett was on Seth’s list for Oliver but I didn’t like it then. Now I do, though!
I love grandpa names! I think they’re so cute and grown up (and they usually fit Kevin’s odd CEO rule: a babies name must sound professional in case they end up being a CEO someday).
My favorite boy’s name right now is Henry (not that we need to be picking out names or anything, but I’ve called dibs on that name with my sister and sister-in-law
).
Love the ombre!
A friend who just had a baby was considering the name Jasper, which I thought was a cute grandpa name that’s coming back into style
Loving that nursery!
I love Landon. Jack. William. Spencer. Natalie has a Hudson in her class, and I think that’s cute, too.
Love Stephanie’s suggestion of Jasper – but be aware it’s a Twilight name.
Food poisoning? No bueno. Glad you’re feeling better now.
I have no good boy names. My bff used to like the name Liam.
Liam keeps coming up on all of the baby name sites we check. I like it, Katie does not. (shocking, I know)
How about some good Bible names?
Sometimes I giggle when I read them. (Isn’t Krishna a Hindu god or something? Who would name their kid that??) Love Kelly’s nursery. And I’m glad you are feeling better–yuck!!
AWWW!! I’m sending you some major happiness-love vibes right now for all this nursery sweetness. I wanna see the pinwheels if you attempt them. THANK YOU ladies!
And names are SOOO much harder than I ever thought they would be before I had kids! The names at the top of our list if Mila had been a boy were Everett, Asher, Emmett, Bennett and Benjamin. I like cool obscure Biblical names too! (Asher fits that bill.) I love talking names! Are you going to share what you’ve chosen when you decide? Are you going to wait til you decide until you meet him?
I’m sure Katie will share…she HATES surprises (unlike me). I love Asher!!
I actually like the name Brahlan. I think it fits well with Adlee and Matea too. I have never heard it but it grabs your attention and grows on you quickly!
me too Fae!
Kelly and Holly both rock. Darn nice DIY’ers and all around super gals. They can make just about anything look good. So in keeping with that theme and that of Hollywood, name picks for The Boy…how about Paisley, Pinwheel, or Rock.
For other DIY’ers waiting on babies I will try to pick gender neutral names (like Apple), but they still sound masculine…. lets go with Decker, Skill, Ras (radial arm saw), and my fav, GlueGun.
~Bliss~
hahah Ras…I love it!!
Fabulous names! Aren’t Kelly and Holly the best?!
Kelly and Holly in the same post! Two of my faves! Kelly is so very funny. Just love her home and her super fun posts. And Holly? Wow, she does color right! So refreshing in a blogosphere of muted grays and whites. I try to do the tone on tone subtle and can’t stick with it. Next thing you know I’m slapping the brightest orange ever on my son’s room wall … or picking crazy colorful fabrics for my entry bench!
Just found you I (through the fabulous Kelly, of course) and am hooked …
Linda
You are too sweet!! Thanks for the compliment. You sound just like me…throwing color on everything!!! I thought I could do neutral colors in my bedroom but it almost killed me until I added a printed comforter. So much better!! Off to go hang out at your blog now.
Girl, come on over…and let’s go thriftin’! You rock! Thanks for this!
of course! i seriously love your house. i totally want to go thrifting with you.
Ohh, we’re talking baby names! It’s such a personal thing, but I’ll add in some ideas! I like Punk Rocker.
Or, Pilot or Major… but you said not too weird, and that is a challenge for me. So… Epic, Blaise, Aspen. Denali, Zephoni, Trek, Steele, Rein, Xavier… I don’t know the last name! So sorry if any rhyme or create some offensive line.
haha no offense taken to any of these!! we love any and all ideas.
and the last name is Peterson which is why it definitely needs to be unique!
