It’s official.  I’m all moved.  I no longer live in New Hope and I officially live in Minneapolis.  I’m glad the move is all over (although I had tons of fabulous help).  Now it’s time to decorate and make my place all cozy!

On Sunday Katie and our friend Fae went to Ikea.  The goal for me was lights for my closet (I have a nice walk in closet but not great lights in there) and a folding stool (I have really high cupboards in my kitchen and high shelves in my closet…and I am short).  Katie had a few things she needed to get and Fae just likes to be social.

Here we are in Ikea.  Fae was MIA.  We’ll show you her picture soon (we know you’re curious).

While we were there we walked through the rug section (ok, let’s be serious, can you not walk through every section in Ikea?).  I need a rug in my living room but rugs are expensive so I just planned on taking one from Katie and Aaron because they have extra.  We were basically past the rug section when I saw a $19.99 sign.  I don’ t think any rug can be cute and big and $19.99 but we checked it out anyway.  Turns out, it can be.  Here’s the rug.

It is the perfect size for my living room (the dimensions are 6’5″ x 4’4″).  I’m sure it’s not one of those rugs that are going to last forever but it’s perfect for my situation right now.

My living room chairs are red with hints of gray and my couch is a crazy floral color which doesn’t actually have any gray in it but I’m trying to make everything go together.  When I have a few more boxes unpacked I’ll show you how it looks in my new place.  :)   I also bought a gray lampshade and a gray pillow (yes, people, I bought a cute pillow!).  I’m pretty excited about how it is all going to look.

Oh and you know how I  had only 2 things on my list (lights and a step stool)?  Didn’t get either one of them.  Turns out Ikea doesn’t carry folding step stools and they didn’t think it was a good idea for me to have the ones that their employees use.

So what are your takes on rugs?  I would die for one of the Turkish rugs that Kelly from View Along the Way wrote about here but until I become rich or find me a sugar-daddy that won’t be happening any time soon.  :)
